$52.00

For skin that feels as dry as the Atacama Desert. The mixture of oils and herbs in this healing balm is truly unlike any other, working to increase moisture, repair barrier function, smooth fine lines, and heal rough, chapped skin.

Size: 1oz (30mL)

Key Benefits

The Herbs:

  • Demulcent marshmallow and glycyrrhizic acid-rich licorice root sooth rough, chapped, eczema-prone skin.

  • Comfrey is a proven wound-healer and wrinkle-fighter.

  • Gotu Kola, aka centella, helps build collagen and enhance skin elasticity.

  • Resinous Calendula flowers soothe chapped skin and fight inflammation.

  • Astragalus, known as Huangqi in Traditional Chinese Medicine, can increase telomerase activity, and has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and immunoregulatory effects to help reduce the appearance of aging.

The Oils:

  • Shea butter is a winter skin dream. It’s thick but not greasy, absorbs quickly, and doesn’t clog pores. And it does all this while delivering serious healing moisture.

  • Tamanu oil, which comes from a tropical tree nut grown in the Pacific islands, contains the phytolipid calophyllolide, which is a strongly anti-inflammatory and healing compound. It absorbs rapidly into the all three layers of the skin and has been demonstrate to rapidly regenerate new skin and diminish scarring. It has been used to treat eczema, prosiasis, chapping, burns, and skin infections.

  • Nigella, aka black seed or black cumin seed oil, contains over one hundred identified nutrients, including zinc, calcium, iron, folacin, copper, phosphorus, riboflavin, thiamin, pyridoxine, and carotenes. The oil is rich in linoleic and apha-linoleic acids is an effective treatment for dry and scaly skin.

  • Helichrysum essential oil, also called immortelle oil, repairs broken, scarred, and chapped skin. Various studies suggest the oil lower inflammations via several mechanisms: inflammatory enzyme inhibition, free radical scavenging activity, and corticoid-like effects. It’s an effective treatment for acne and inflammatory skin conditions like eczema.

To use

Use as the last step in your skincare routine, either over an oil serum or in place of it. Great for chapped hands, too.

If little white particles form, not to worry: the balm is still good! This happens when shea melts and hardens again. If it bugs you, melt the balm and stick it in the freezer (and if not, just rub a little and they disappear.)
