Into The Mystic CBD Balm
Into The Mystic CBD Balm
An anti-inflammatory balm for bruises, muscle aches, and joint pain. We use a therapeutically appropriate dose (read: a whole lot) of whole-plant CBD to target pain and inflammation. Arnica flower disperses stuck blood to heal bruises. Fair trade frankincense, infused from the whole resin, contains anti-inflammatory boswellic acid. Yerba Santa, the holy herb, provides surface healing. Luscious oils of chia, marula, and argan, and jojoba deliver a full omega profile while nurturing skin. Mandarin, cypress, and geranium uplift the spirits.
(And yes, you can use it on your face!)
55mL contains 450mg of CBD and 50mg THC (0.25%).
CBD, or Cannabidiol is a phytocannabinoid that helps reduce inflammation and relieve pain. We source our CBD from Apothio, a lab that pioneered whole-plant extracts and grows their hemp organically in southern California. None of the deep-green chlorophyll has been removed, meaning your skin gets all the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory benefits.
Boswellic acid, present in resinous frankincense tears, has been shown to reduce inflammation, and has been effective in treating inflammatory conditions like arthritis. The key here is that we infuse our oil with the whole resin; frankincense essential oil, while smelling very nice, contains little to none of the therapeutic boswellic acid. We source fair-trade organic frankincense from Somalia; this is a little more expensive, but we are committed to sustainable harvesting practices and living wages for farmers. We grind the resin into a powder, which we then infuse into oil.
Arnica has long been used for bruises, sprains, muscle soreness, and muscle spasm. Arnica is also used to treat muscular aches, joint pain, and arthritis. You really want to use this more for acute pain rather than chronic pain; prolonged use isn’t as effective. Given the mountain flower’s growing habits, finding organic sources can be difficult, but we’ve found a certified organic farm in Canada that produces a high-quality herb.
Yerba Santa, aka “the holy herb,” helps treat bruises, sprains, insect bites, and joint pain. It was traditionally used by the Chumash people of central California. Taken internally, it can help clear mucus…but please don’t eat your balm.
Do not use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Do not apply to open wounds. And please, do not eat the balm (arnica is poisonous if ingested).
This is not a drug regulated by the FDA. We can’t tell you it is going to treat any medical conditions. This is folk medicine; everyone’s experience may differ.
